The EMI Resource Center at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU EMI RC) will organize the following events during the 2026–2027 Fall Semester. Faculty members and students from higher education institutions nationwide are cordially invited to participate.
Theme: Reimagining EMI Practices: Scholarship, Innovation, and Collaboration
This conference aims to provide a platform for faculty members, researchers, and EMI practitioners from diverse disciplines to share teaching practices, research findings, and professional experiences, while fostering inter-institutional, interdisciplinary, and international collaboration.
The program will feature:
Presentations on the outcomes of NTNU EMI RC's overseas training programs at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin).
Sharing sessions from participants of the 36-hour EMI Professional Development Program.
Research paper presentations, keynote speeches, and EMI panel discussions focusing on EMI pedagogy, faculty professional development, teaching innovation, and international collaboration.

Faculty members, researchers, graduate students, and EMI practitioners are invited to submit papers related to EMI teaching practices, faculty professional development, curriculum design, pedagogical innovation, and international collaboration.
Suggested Topics include:
EMI Teacher Education and Professional Development
AI-Assisted EMI Learning Design
EMI Curriculum Design and Innovative Pedagogy
Internationalization, COIL, and Global Partnerships
Abstracts should be written in English and contain 200–300 words. Accepted authors will be required to submit a full paper and present their work during the conference.

This lecture series consists of two tracks:
EMI Faculty Professional Development
EMI Teaching Assistant (TA) Training
The series is designed to support university faculty in enhancing EMI course design and instructional practices, while helping teaching assistants, students, and prospective EMI TAs strengthen their academic English communication, collaborative discussion, problem-solving, and research presentation skills.
The Faculty Development sessions will feature faculty members who participated in the 2026 UT Austin Overseas EMI Training Program, sharing their training experiences, teaching reflections, and post-training classroom implementation.
The TA Training sessions will focus on:
Building academic connections
Collaborative discussion and negotiation
Leadership and communication
Data storytelling
Evidence-based problem solving
Effective visualization of research findings

NTNU EMI RC, in collaboration with Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Taipei University, Feng Chia University, Providence University, National Pingtung University, and National Dong Hwa University, will organize 10 inter-university open classroom observation sessions.
Faculty members who previously participated in the UNSW EMI Overseas Training Program will conduct open EMI classes. Participants will have the opportunity to observe authentic EMI teaching, receive expert feedback, and engage in post-observation discussions on course design and instructional strategies. The series aims to promote professional learning, pedagogical reflection, and continuous enhancement of EMI teaching quality.
